“People were always getting ready for tomorrow. I didn't believe in that. Tomorrow wasn't getting ready for them. It didn't even know they were there.” The Road was published by Cormac McCarthy in 2006. It is a post-apocalyptic novel about a man and his son trying to survive. Throughout their journey they encounter several struggles. This leads them to an unexpected end.

Coke
The part where the Dad gives the Son the Coke made me realize that they were struggling to get food. There is only one left and when his son says he is thirsty he gives it to him and lets him drink all of it. I wondered if they would find more food and why they were doing this. I didn’t understand a lot but I was curious to find out if they made it to their destination. This shows that the dad really loves his son and is willing to do anything to make him the least bit of happy in this terrible world.
